Admission rules for Thomas Coram Church of England Junior School (The)

This is a voluntary aided mixed-sex primary school (junior). It is linked with Swing Gate Infant & Nursery School, and Victoria Church of England Infant & Nursery School.

The rules have been renumbered to enable you to use the Calculator. Please refer to the school's website to see the rules in their original form. The order of priority has not been changed. 

Rule 1. Children looked after and previously looked after

Rule 2: Children currently on roll in Year 2 at Swing Gate Infant School or Victoria C of E Infant School.

Rule 3. Children who have a sibling already attending the school at the proposed time of entry.

Rule 4. Children for whom it can be demonstrated that they have a particular medical or social reason for attending The Thomas Coram School. The supporting evidence from a professional practitioner (e.g. doctor, social worker) must set out the reason(s) why The Thomas Coram School is the most suitable school and explain the difficulties that would be caused should the child have to travel to an alternative school.

Rule 5: Children who are eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant funding and live within the ecclesiastical parishes of Great Berkhamsted or Sunneyside with Bourne End. 

Rule 6. Children whose parent(s)/(carer(s) have a regular worship commitment at any of the Anglican churches of Great Berkhamsted, Northchurch St. Mary, Sunnyside with Bourne End, or Potten End with Nettleden, verified on the attached Form 2 by the parish priest concerned.

Rule 7. Children of parent(s)/carer(s) who have a regular worshipping commitment at other Christian denominations or other Faiths, verified on Form 2 by the priest, minister or religious leader concerned.

Rule 8. Any other children. 

Tiebreaker: distance.
