Admission rules for The Grange Academy (Junior)

This is a mixed-sex academy. It's a junior school, linked with Northfields Infant and Nursery School.

Rule 1: Children who are/were in public care.

Rule 2: Medical or social need. You must provide supporting evidence from a doctor, psychologist or other professional, demonstrating that this is the only school that meets your child's needs. Medical priority is given to children with an exceptional illness or disability (for example, restricted mobility). Social priority is given to children whose education would be seriously affected if they did not go to a particular school.

Rule 3: Linked school.  In the case of junior schools, children who attend the linked infant school at  the time of their application with those living nearer receiving higher priority. The linked  infant school to the Grange Academy is Northfields Infant and Nursery School.

Rule 4: Sibling at the school. The sibling has to be on the roll of the school or linked school at the time of application (and not in their final year). A sibling means the sister, brother, half brother or sister, adopted/foster brother or sister, or child of the parent/carer or partner. The sibling must live in the same house as your child from Monday to Friday.

Rule 5: Children of school staff

Rule 6: All other children. Tiebreaker: distance.

Special note: Any child with a statement of special educational needs, or an Education, Health and Care Plan, that names the school, will be offered a place (because that's the law!).
