Admission rules for Yavneh College

This is an academy mixed secondary school

Specialist status: Business and Enterprise, Denomination: Jewish

Rule A: Children Looked After/previously looked after (within the meaning of section 22 of the Children Act 1989) who obtain a minimum of three points on the Yavneh College Certificate of Religious Practice.

Rule B: Other children who obtain a minimum of three points on the Yavneh College Certificate of Religious Practice.

Rule C: Any other Children Looked After/previously looked after.

Rule D: Any other children who obtain fewer than three points on the Yavneh College Certificate of Religious Practice.

In the event of over-subscription within each of the above categories B and D (which has happened for the past 3 years) places will be offered in accordance with the following further criteria (input the numbers below into the Calculator).

1: Siblings of pupils attending Yavneh College at the deadline for application. For these purposes a sibling means the sister, brother, half-brother or sister, step-brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, and in every case living permanently in the same house from Monday to Friday.

2: Children of members of staff

3: Other children.

Tiebreaker: In the event of over-subscription after each of the above criteria 1- 4 has been applied, proximity to the School of the child’s home address as at the deadline for application will in each of the above categories be the determining factor.

Where the child lives with parents with shared responsibility, each for a part of the week, the child’s home address will be defined as the address at which they spend the greater part of the week.
