RULE 1. Catholic Looked After children* and Catholic children who have previously been Looked After and since Adopted (or made subject to residence orders or special guardianship orders) immediately following having been looked after .

RULE 2. Baptised children with a Certificate of Catholic Practice who are resident in the parish of Holy Trinity & St. Augustine of Canterbury, Baldock. (A map of the Parish can be made available with the Supplementary Information Form).

RULE 3. Baptised children with a Certificate of Catholic Practice who are resident in other parishes for whom St. John’s is the nearest Catholic school. (Maps can be made available with the Supplementary Information Form).

RULE 4. Other Baptised Catholics.

RULE 5. Other Looked After children* and children who have been previously Looked After and since Adopted (or made subject to residence orders or special guardianship orders) immediately following having been looked after .

RULE 6. Catechumens and members of an Eastern Christian Church.

RULE 7. Christians of other denominations whose application is supported by their Minister of Religion.

RULE 8. Children of other faiths whose whose application is supported by their Religious Leader.

RULE 9. Any other children.

Tiebreaker: distance (shortest straight line route)

The governing body will afford top priority to an application within a category for a child with exceptional medical, social or pastoral need as long as compelling professional evidence from a doctor, social worker or priest - as appropriate - is provided at the time of application.

The admission of pupils with a statement of Special Educational Needs is dealt with by a completely separate procedure. This procedure is integral to the making and maintaining of statements by the pupil’s home Local Education Authority.
