This is an academy mixed-sex school that takes children from aged 4 to 18. The standard intakes are at Reception and Year 7. The rules recently changed giving priority to children of staff (Rule 4) and children outside the priority area (Rules 7 & 8). However we do not predict that this will make a significant difference to the admission patterns.
Specialist status: English, New Technology
Rule 1: Children who are/were in public care.
Rule 2: Medical or social needs. A panel will determine whether there’s enough evidence to admit your child under this rule. You must provide supporting evidence from a doctor, psychologist or other professional involved with your child. You will need to show that only one particular school can meet your child’s needs.
Rule 3: Sibling. Children with a sibling at the school at the time of application (unless the sibling is in their final year). A ‘sibling’ means a sister, brother, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, or child of the parent/carer or partner. The children must live in the same house from Monday to Friday.
Rule 4: Children of staff.
Rule 5: Nearest School: Children in the priority area for whom it is their nearest community or voluntary-controlled school or an own admitting school or academy using Hertfordshire’s admission rules. Priority will be given to those who live closest to the Academy.
Rule 6: Distance: Children in the priority area who live nearest the Academy. (Straight line system of measurement from a child’s home address point to the address point of the school will be used for all admission distances)
Rule 7: Children outside the priority area who live nearest to the school.
