Consultation begins on proposal to enlarge Wheathampstead primary school

Herts CC are consulting residents on the proposed enlargement of St Helen's C of E Primary School in Wheathampstead. Population trends continue to show a significant increase in demand for reception places in parts of Hertfordshire. The county council is proposing to increase the number of reception places from 40 to 60 from September 2014.

The school has been chosen because it is close to the area where the increased demand is expected and the site is suitable for expansion.

Planning permission would be required for any building work which will be dealt with by a separate local consultation controlled by the town planning department.

Herts CC are inviting Hertfordshire residents to comment on the proposal, by completing the online form or calling 0300 123 4043 to request a hard copy of the response form. Your comments must be received by 20 March 2013.
