Admission rules for Clore Shalom School (Jewish)

This is a voluntary aided mixed-sex primary school.

Priority 1 means an applicant who demonstrates Jewish religious practice supporting Pluralist expressions of Judaism by producing a certificate signed by a Rabbi or Officer of a sponsoring synagogue (currently Liberal, Masorti and Reform) to confirm the child’s attendance 40 times in the 12 months prior to the application deadline  at a sponsoring synagogue.

Priority 2 means an applicant who demonstrates Jewish religious practice supporting Pluralist expressions of Judaism by producing a certificate signed by a Rabbi or Officer of a sponsoring synagogue (currently Liberal, Masorti and Reform) to confirm the child’s attendance 5 times in the 4 months prior to the application deadline  at a sponsoring synagogue.

Priority 3 means an applicant who demonstrates Jewish religious practice by producing a certificate signed by a Rabbi or Officer of any other /non-sponsoring synagogue, to confirm attendance once in the 4 months prior to the application deadline at any synagogue.

Allocation of Places

Initial allocation is to Children with a statement or EHC plan which names Clore Shalom School.  In the event of over-subscription, places will then be offered in the following order:

1. Priority 1, 2 or 3 children looked after and children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangement order or special guardianship order.

2. Priority 1, 2 or 3 children for whom it can be demonstrated by specific professional evidence that they have a particular medical or social need to go to this school.

3. Priority 1, 2 or 3 children who already have a sibling at the school or have accepted a sibling place in any class, including the Nursery, at the application deadline.

4. Priority 1, 2 or 3 children of staff where the member of staff is employed at the school at the application deadline.

5. Other Priority 1 children

6. Other Priority 2 children

7. Other Priority 3 children

8. Other children looked after and children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangement order or special guardianship order.

9. Other children for whom it can be demonstrated by specific professional evidence that they have a particular medical or social need to go to this school.

10. Any other children who already have a sibling at the school or have accepted a sibling place in any class, including the Nursery, at the application deadline.

11. Any other children of Staff where the member of staff is employed at the school at the application deadline.

12. Any other children.

In addition to the online or paper form, please complete a supplementary information form (SIF) for this school. SIFs are available from the school and at www.hertsdirect.org

It should be noted that Admission into the Nursery does not guarantee a Reception Class Place.

Children with a statement that names the school will be offered a place - then remaining places will be allocated.
